History of CM Reprographics, Inc.
CM Reprographics, Inc. was founded and incorporated on June 23, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company opened for business on July 31, 1989. The owners were Bernadette Carver, President owning 51% of capital stock, and Stephen Melanson, Vice-President owning 49% of capital stock.
Both owners left a competitive family firm to establish CM Reprographics, Inc. Initially, the company occupied a 4800 square foot facility on Highland Drive, but outgrew this space by early 1993. The company officers began searching for a new facility, and by mid-year 1993 found a location suitable for renovation to fit the companies requirements. In March 1994, the company moved into the new facility on Valley View Boulevard, a 10,000 square foot building with 2500 square feet of future build-out space on a second level.
The move to the Valley View location coincided with the move of Holman's of Nevada to the adjacent suite. The companies established a strategic alliance to exchange and share the customer base of each firm. This arrangement offered a greater variety of services to the shared customer base.
As of April 1996, Bernadette Carver became the sole owner of the company and acquired 100% of the capital stock. The company is state certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE). CM Reprographics is currently applying for federal certification as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise. The company employs 25 full-time workers, and has a fleet of seven delivery vehicles to serve the Las Vegas area.
In keeping with the Vision and Mission statement, CM Reprographics made a full commitment to new digital technology in the wide-format, black and white area during the last quarter of 2000. The firm was the first reprographics company in Las Vegas to convert the blueprinting process to digital bond copies. In 2001, all small format black and white equipment was upgraded to digital technology. This business area is still in the transition process.
